Huawei to Launch Sub-brand Car: Investment in Smart Car Department Exceeds US$1 Billion This Year

  Huawei's Deputy Chairman and Rotating Chairman, Xu Zhijun, stated that Huawei will heavily invest in autonomous driving software, promoting the integration of the automotive industry and the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) industry, bringing long-term strategic development opportunities for Huawei. Xu Zhijun said that Huawei currently has three partners to create its own sub-brands, including BAIC Group, and the two sides will launch a series of vehicles in the future. These vehicles will combine the strengths of Huawei and its partners. In the future, Huawei will also work with GAC Group and Changan Automobile to create sub-brands in the automotive field. Xu Zhijun also stated that although Huawei does not manufacture cars itself, it wants to cooperate with automakers to create good business models, choosing to cooperate deeply through the "Huawei Inside" approach to empower automakers and truly orient our vehicles towards the future. In the fourth quarter of this year, smart cars bearing the "Huawei Inside" logo will be launched successively.
